  • Completed Bachelor’s degree or diploma (or equivalent experience) in Computer Science, Software Engineering or Software Architecture preferred; candidates with substantial and relevant industry experience are also eligible
  • Deep understanding of DevSecOps and/or SRE practices along with advanced knowledge of CI/CD principles and best practices
  • Ten+ years of engineering experience as leading & working on CICD, cloud, docker & k8s technologies.
  • Experience designing and architecting at scale for CICD tools such as GitLab, GitHub, Jenkins etc.
  • Experience with programming languages i.e Go lang, Java, Ruby, Shell etc.
  • Experience in working on Unix/Linus operating systems and managing Databases i.e MySQL, Oracle, PostgreSQL etc.
  • Understand the domain/area of focus, including customers’ architecture, code, pain points, and roadmap.
  • Apply experience with creating ephemeral environments for distributed testing of microservices architectures. Maintain a product-based, rather than a project-based, mindset, and make predictions based on product lifecycle for sustainability and longevity of the software solutions.
  • Apply comprehension of process/system flows, sequence diagrams, logical/reference architecture, solution architecture, capabilities model, standards, and KPIs.
  • Experience managing multiple streams of work concurrently.
  • Ability to author, evangelize, and educate on engineering best practices.
  • Experience building, architecting, designing, and implementing highly distributed multi-region cloud-based systems.

As a Staff Engineer in Enterprise Engineering group, you will work as part of a global team enabling all engineering teams with CI/CD platform, monitoring and observability and helping them with metrics and data by adopting to enterprise platforms.

What they want you to do: 

As a Staff Engineer, you will work as the technical leader for the platform(s) your team delivers. You will be counted on as a leader in your technology space as you contribute to all areas of development and operations (pre-production to production). You will spend a fair amount of time planning the evolution of the tools and systems that make up your platform, guiding your team’s roadmap year to year.
You will contribute heavily to our Engineering principles by maintaining the practical “how we do it” documentation, and by partnering with Senior Leadership and Principal Engineers to lead a Community of Practice aimed at increasing Engineer training and development for your technology stack. Staff Engineers work to elevate our engineering community by designing/introducing tools and systems that accelerate and support our engineering best practices.

  • Main contributor for product roadmaps at the platform level
  • Partner with project management to deliver status and performance updates.
  • Conduct research to aid in product development and tools selection
  • Investigate user trends and feedback to evolve your target platform
  • Facilitate an Engineering Community of Practice for your platform
  • Owns the delivery lifecycle for your select platform
  • Collaborates with Architecture, Security and Operations throughout product development life cycle
  • Drive continuous improvements to throughput, quality, cycle time, and the DevOps culture across Lululemon. Execute goals across the green field platforms, encompassing the unified continuous integration/continuous delivery (CI/CD), integrated SDLC processes, and tools.
  • Apply an in-depth understanding of CI/CD platforms, capabilities, processes, tools, and integration, including current and emerging technologies, integration/dependencies, and the end-state view.
  • Apply experience leading high-profile projects across CI/CD Orchestrator, automated testing systems, and/or developer value streams, and provide thought leadership to the organization.
  • Write and promote architecture strategy for maven, Gradle, Spring Boot, and go projects across all of Lululemon Development. Collaborate with Principal Architects and Software Engineers in solution designs and evaluate the value of the project/feature/capability, determine the approach for adoption, and enable self-service.
  • Coach and develop team members, provide clear direction, and represent the team when committing to projects.
  • Apply experience minimizing developer process lead time by identifying bottlenecks and subordinate constraints.
  • Identify patterns and frameworks and perform value chain analysis that drives the realization of the Secure Delivery Platform (SDP) strategy.
  • Review code and provide feedback and direction to team for quality deliverables. Create Proof of concept to prove the design and architecture for various technologies and tool integrations.
