  • Hands-on experience with Observability components, such as APM, Infrastructure, Serverless, Synthetic, and Real User Metrics.

What they want you to do: 

We are looking for a motivated Lead Engineer to become a core member of the Observability team. In this role, you will help guide the organization in improving monitoring and observability practices, while contributing to our strategy, roadmap, and execution at lululemon.As a successful candidate, you will support application teams migrating to Datadog, ensuring that our standards and best practices are followed. You will collaborate with key stakeholders to enhance our documentation, standards, and practices. Additionally, you will work with multiple internal teams, including vendor TAMs, to resolve issues and empower end users.
A Day in the Life:

  • Support teams with migration to, and instrumentation of, Datadog, ensuring our onboarding process and best practices are adopted.
  • Provide feedback to key stakeholders regarding challenges, blockers, or opportunities to streamline workflows.
  • Collaborate closely with stakeholders to set team direction and delivery goals. You will lead a Community of Practice focused on Observability platform adoption and education.
  • Guide the future state of the product, optimizing and evolving it to support our engineering standards.
  • Drive the implementation of security fixes, quality processes, and all aspects related to the delivery of the Observability platform. You will ensure that Datadog exceeds reliability expectations and meets SLOs.
  • Work with Managers and Directors to ensure platform development is appropriately funded and well-defined for yearly and quarterly planning initiatives.
  • Represent Observability platforms at Architecture and Engineering review boards.
  • Be recognized as an expert in your field, applying hands-on skills to the more challenging aspects of platform delivery.
  • Mentor other engineers on the team, driving best practices and optimization recommendations.
  • Understand the development lifecycle and work with your team to improve velocity and report key delivery metrics.
  • Dedicate part of your time to researching new techniques and tooling to evolve the Observability platform.
  • Be open-minded when it comes to roadmap decisions, focusing on the end goals over current technologies.
