  • Bachelor’s degree and/or applicable experience in information / computer technology field
  • Very strong technical skills with at least 10+ years hands-on design, coding, integration, and deployment experience in enterprise applications
  • 8+ years of experience in developing enterprise services and application integrations (REST, SOAP, Web services XML and JSON)
  • 5+ years of experience in architecting retail/supply chain applications is required
  • Proven track record of successfully delivering API integration projects
  • Experience integrating with Cloud/SaaS applications, API’s, SDK of packaged applications and legacy applications
  • Experience directly leading, developing people and teams is required
  • Knowledge of cloud ecosystems (AWS, Azure) is required
  • Experience building microservices is required

About this teamThe Global Logistics and Trade Technology teams are committed to unlocking business potential with our Global Fulfillment and broader Supply Chain partners. Supporting both vendor and propriety systems the teams provide solutions to enable our partners in streamlining the lifecycle of product movement from our manufacturers to our DC’s, from our DC’s to our stores and guests as well as international trade across logistics and settlement activities including but not limited to components such as product classification, import/export process management and commercial invoice information.

What they want you to do: 

We are seeking a talented Lead Architect who will oversee systems architecture on the Inbound Logistics, Outbound Logistics and Trade Technology teams. In this role you will be responsible for ensuring solutions designed by each team adhere to best practices and enterprise architecture standards and are scalable to meet continued global business growth. From solving large complex design problems to leading engineers and architects through delivery & implementation, you will act as a key technical leader, driving alignment and clarity across multiple stakeholder groups.
A day in the life:

  • Provide architecture delivery support across multiple teams within your delivery unit and actively drive solution alignment between Architects, Sr. Architects, Sr. Software Engineers, Lead Engineers, Program & Project Managers, and Product, Business & Engineering leadership
  • Act as solution design lead for large, complex or mission critical projects and initiatives that requires cross-team collaboration spanning an entire Director+ level organization
  • Drive the architecture vision and engineering for platforms across IB/OB Logistics and Trade Technology
  • An accomplished individual contributor, as a Lead Architect you now focus on working through others to achieve delivery goals and drive successful business outcomes.
  • Take ownership of designs that span multiple people's work, breaking work into smaller tasks for Architects, Sr. Architects and may also delegate to Software Engineers and Sr. Software Engineers
  • Work closely with our domain architects and software development teams to support and guide development teams implementing solutions and educate teams on corresponding technical aspects
  • Continue to investigate new technologies to evolve the future state architecture in partnership with domain architects
  • Develop and monitor adherence to integration standards and will utilize these standards to design solutions that meet operational requirements, such as scalability, maintainability, security, reliability, extensibility, flexibility, availability, and manageability
  • Deep understanding of integration technologies and practices as well as the business acumen to develop overarching system designs
  • Mentor delivery teams on adopting new ideas/technologies
  • Have a forward-thinking, empathy driven mindset with people and development at the forefront
